Golf Gloves

Most golfers wear one golf glove during play. Typically worn on the leading hand, in other words the hand nearest the target, the golf glove combined with the bare skin on the other hand provides exceptional grip whilst allowing the golfer to maintain a soft hold on the golf club at the same time.

The Four Categories of Golf Glove

100% Leather Golf Gloves are found at the top end of the market. Usually more expensive, these golf gloves tend to be incredibly soft and comfortable. The leather offers an incredibly subtle grip on the golf club.

Leather/Synthetic mix is the budget option, though they are perfectly good gloves for all standards of golfer. The leather will be on the palm and inside of the fingers for grip whilst the rest of the glove will be made from a synthetic material. One of the advantages of this type of golfing glove is that they are more weather resistant. Some golfers also find the flexible synthetic fabric more comfortable than leather.

All Weather Golfing Mitts

All weather golf gloves are made 100% from synthetic material to provide a firm grip whatever the weather on the golf course. We also stock insulating winter golf gloves for extra warmth whilst swinging your golf club. You can even find proper full winter gloves to keep your hands warm between shots.

The range of golf gloves at Onlinegolf consists of all the major brands including FootJoy, Mizuno Golf, Under Armour, Adidas Golf, Callaway Golf, Srixon, Wilson, and Nike Golf.

Golf Trolleys

For those golfers who take no pleasure from lugging around a carry bags or for those who would rather save their energy for their golf swing, a golf trolley is an excellent addition to your golfing gear. There is also the added advantage of having more space as cart bags are almost always much larger than stand bags.

Energy Saving Golf Trolleys
Trolleys come in two versions: Pull or Electric. Pull Trolleys have a handle and wheels and are usually lightweight and fairly compact. Designed to work in conjunction with a cart bag, the golfer can simply place their golf bag on the trolley platform, secure the bag to the trolley with a strap and pull the trolley along with them.

Battery Powered Golf Carts
Electric Golf Trolleys typically come with a motor and a battery so they are much easier to manoeuvre than a Pull. For many, they are the ultimate golf investment. Certain Electric Trolleys have all sorts of clever tricks such as a remote control freewheel system. Typically, Electric Trolleys can be dismantled and stored for convenience.

Which Golf Ball is Right for You?

When choosing a golf ball, many golfers head straight for the Titleist Pro V1 Golf Ball, without a second thought as to which golf ball would best suit their game. Here at Onlinegolf, we want to help you make the best decision possible, resulting in you lowering your scores on the golf course.

First things first, what are you look for from a golf ball? The first general difference is between distance golf balls and spin golf balls. As the name suggests, distance golf balls are designed to give you greater length on your shots, getting you onto the green in fewer strokes, while spin golf balls give you enhanced control as you approach the greens.

High handicap golfers will appreciate distance golf balls as they increase the length of your shots, which high handicappers generally need. However, if you tend to lose a few golf balls over 18 holes of golf, check out our range of Clearance Store Golf Balls for great golf balls at incredible prices.

As you start to improve, it could be worth upgrading to Lake Golf Balls, which have been rescued from various hazards at golf clubs, before being restored to Grade A quality, and made available to you at a great value price, giving you premium golf balls without the premium price tag.

Spin Golf Balls offer the ultimate in feel and control to improve your performance around the greens of the golf course. These golf balls are of particular benefit to low handicap golfers who have no problems with distance, but require more touch and feel around the green.

Those are the main types of Golf Balls, if you’re completely new to golf, you may find that you need different golf balls as your ability improves and your handicap lowers.

Keep on top of your golf and get the Golf Ball that is right for you with Onlinegolf, Europe’s number one golf shop.

Golf Clubs Introduction

Golf clubs play an integral part of your performance on the golf course, and are used to send your golf ball on its way to the hole.

A driver is used from the tee to hit send your golf balls flying straight and far down the fairway on the golf course, and after a few lessons, will send give you the greatest distance on your shots.

Fairway woods are equally at home on the fairway or from the tee, have a similar although smaller headshape to your driver, and have more loft to get your golf ball airborne quicker.

Hybrid golf clubs are a relatively new introduction into the world of golf. They have developed as a cross between been fairway woods and irons, and are designed to replace your long irons, from your 1 iron and often right the way up to 5 or 6 irons, these golf clubs are designed to be ultra forgiving, high flying and easy to hit from the tee, rough, bunkers and fairways of the golf course; ideal for golfers of all abilities.

Irons form the backbone of your golf bag, although the role of the iron set is changing in golf. The traditional set of irons comprises 3-9,PW,SW (9 irons), and these will give you a variety of full shot distances from 60 yards to 200 yards on the golf course depending on your golf ability. Nowadays golfers use their irons less over 18 holes of golf. With easy to hit drivers, rescue clubs and specialist wedges taking over, you may be surprised to know that the average 18 handicap golfer may only use their irons 20 times during a round.

An ever increasing section of the golf market, specialist wedges should not be ignored by golfers from intermediate to advanced ability. All golf professionals carry specialist wedges, some up to 4 of them at a time. The reason for this is that they allow you to play a variety of shots from around the green more consistently which, in turn will allow you to get closer to the pin, making it easy for your putter. The average 18 handicap golfer may only hit 4-6 greens in regulation per round, hence more often than not a green will be missed and a chip will be required.

When you consider that the average golfer will use their putter for about 40% of strokes then you will realise how crucial it is to get this purchase right. The old adage of stick with a putter you like no matter what has some truth to it, but with the massive amount of technology available in modern putters, you really will be missing out if you don't investigate. When selecting a putter spend as much time (and money) as you would a driver as you will be using it around 3 times more on the golf course!

Golf club sets (packages) are a great way to get into golf. Typically the package set will include 9 irons, a driver, 2 fairway woods, putter and a golf bag. Golf club sets are increasingly including a rescue club or two instead of the traditional 3 and 4 irons.

There is a wide range of junior golf clubs, which often feature the same technology as the adult golf clubs, but with lighter and scaled down shafts.

For any golfer on a budget, there is a range of second golf clubs that have been returned to Onlinegolf under the 90 day trial, giving you the opportunity to buy premium golf clubs without the premium price tag.
